2026 Folktellers for Literacy Awards
Your students have explored the Folktellers Universe, unlocked the magic of storytelling, and created original movie trailers inspired by the Excerpts from an Unknown Guidebook series. Now their creativity can shine on the big screen!
Submit your top video below to enter the 2026 Folktellers for Literacy Awards.
The top 10 finalist trailers will be showcased on folktellersforliteracy.com, judged by celebrity panelists and public votes, and invited to premiere on the red carpet at Emagine Theatres on June 3, 2026—complete with family, friends, community, and the thrill of seeing their work on the big screen. Winners (including the grand prize) will be announced live that night!
Every story matters. Every student is a hero. Let’s give them their spotlight.
Submission Guidelines
- One entry per kit/class
- Video: 2–3 minute movie trailer inspired by the Excerpts from an Unknown Guidebook series characters, themes, and world
- Format: MP4 preferred (file size under 500 MB recommended for smooth upload)
- All work must be original and student-created
- Deadline: April 30, 2026 (submissions close at end of program; celebrity judging starts in May)
- By submitting, the teacher confirms they have obtained necessary parental/guardian permissions for featuring the video online and at the red-carpet premiere event
How to Submit
Required fields:
- Teacher’s full name
- Teacher’s email address (we’ll use this to confirm receipt and contact you about next steps)
- School name
- Grade level(s) participating
- Names of all participating students in this group (first and last, separated by commas or line breaks)
- Video title
- Video description / metadata (brief: e.g., main theme, key characters inspired from the series, any special credits or shout-outs)
What Happens Next
- We review all eligible submissions and feature them on the Folktellers for Literacy YouTube Channel.
- In May, celebrity judges select the top 10 finalists. **public likes on videos will be taken into consideration**
- Finalist teams receive red-carpet invitations, event details, and preparation tips.
- The June 3, 2026 premiere at Emagine Theatres celebrates all participants—with the top winners announced live!
